The resilience of our people is incredible. They deal with the realities of these floods that have destroyed the fruit of their labors in their paddy fields, they deal with the reality that relief that is meant for them gets misappropriated by corrupt village chairman and local administration officials, they deal with their children being washed away by the raging waters, and they say, ‘if god wishes it, we will not die today.”

As rivers all over Bangladesh swell and submerge sixty percent of the country, jeopardizing the lives of more than 12 million people, life goes on – business as usual – in Dhaka.
